Formatting templates for individual spool file conversion
InterExcel400 enables creation of templates, used
for conversion of specific AS 400 / IBM System i spool
files, into formatted Excel files. These templates
include settings of how and where data is placed
in the Excel spreadsheet, including cell font and
border definition. The settings also enable deletion
of blank lines and multiple headers on every page
for easy handling in MS Excel.
User friendly handling via a command, similar to
WRKOUTQ
InterExcel400 enables easy selection of the AS400
/ IBM System i spool files to be converted via a command,
similar to WRKOUTQ. From this easy menu structure
the user can select which target format to be used
for the AS400 / IBM System i spool conversion.
Automatic conversion via Program Calls
InterExcel400 features the possibility of calling
the InterExcel400 conversion program from own menu
structures or programs for batch conversion. InterExcel400
enables dynamic naming of the saved InterExcel400
files, giving freedom in batch conversion of AS400
/ IBM System i reports.
Using Excel "import text Wizard"
InterExcel400 features opening Excel with a text
file, which will make it possible to use the MS
Excel "Import Text Wizard". This gives
the user complete independence which spool file
to process.
Conversion to .txt and .rtf format
InterExcel400 enables spool conversion to .txt format
and therefore also calling off the associated PC
program like Notepad, Works or Word. When converting
to .rtf format, MS Word will be called and the respective
page breaks are respected, as opposed to using .txt.
Integration with InterForm400 (ArtForm400 in the
US)
InterExcel400 enables InterForm400 users to expand
the number of output formats for the distribution
of documents. The InterForm400’s e-mail distribution
feature will facilitate easy distribution of Excel
reports via e-mail.
